My First Week at ROAR

How has it been a week already? Starting ROAR on Monday morning, I didn’t  think I would have four certifications by Wednesday, I have learnt so much in such a short space of time, of course with the support of the ROAR team!

What I’ve been up to so far

On Sunday evening, I was feeling a little nervous about what Monday morning was going to bring, but I was made to feel comfortable by Michael, Josh and Ollie from the get go.

With a trip to Room 305 in Whitley Bay on Monday, to a lunchtime walk on Tuesday, mini golf in the office and the general laughs in between the work I’ve been doing, it really has been a great first week and I’m looking forward to next week already.

What I’ve learnt so far

The training I’ve completed so far has been invaluable, completing Semrush ‘SEO Principles’, ‘Platform Overview’ and the ‘Site Audit Course’, as well as ‘Get started using Google Analytics’. There is no way I could tell you everything I’ve learnt this week, we’d be here for a very long time!

So, let’s discuss the things I’ve found most interesting. I knew there was more to SEO than keyword research, however I’m not sure I knew there was this much depth to it. From the three types of SEO, on-page SEO, off-page SEO then to the more complex, technical SEO, involving many key aspects, such as presentation, page power, performance and security code, to name a few.

I’ve also been shadowing Josh (Head of SEO), understanding the work that goes into the clients businesses to ensure they perform in the correct direction.

What I’m looking forward to

I think what I’m most looking forward to is, looking back in 6 months time and realising how much I have learnt from the team here at ROAR. Even though I think I have learnt so much this week alone, I know I have a lot more to learn from them.

I can’t wait to get to know our clients better through working with them alongside my team. I’m excited to extend my knowledge and get involved with clients’ SEO audits, keyword research and whatever else that comes in my direction, learning every step of the way.

My Past Vs Future

My interest in marketing began during my A-Levels studying Media and Business, which then followed to University studying Mass Communications with Advertising,  although I learnt a lot at University and really enjoyed my time there, I am ready to get stuck into the Industry, and what better way to do it than with ROAR.

I think I’ve learnt more in a week with ROAR than I did in a month at University! I am so excited for the future here, hopefully helping the clients and the ROAR team progress even more.

Our final thoughts

Anyway, I look forward to the challenges that are to come, developing as a marketer, and learning from the very best in the industry – ROAR! I can’t wait to experience everything about SEO and more. Bring on the future!
