Google Ad Manager Suffers Major Advertisement Outage
Active Google Ad Manager users experienced ad-free browsing for several hours on Thursday night as paid advertisements vanished.
Google Ads is an online advertising platform developed by Google. Businesses use this platform to bid and display advertisements, products, and services to web users to generate leads, revenue or sales.
These ads are displayed in various forms at the top of a Google results page after a user has searched.
The platform generates much of Google’s revenue and is vital to their business. It generates a staggering $54.48 billion in the first quarter of this year. To put that into perspective, in 2022 as a whole 80.2% of Google’s total revenue came from advertising revenues.
The leading search engine updated users after the error were noticed and reported that they were investigating user-reported ‘issues with Google Ad Manager’.

Google Ads Manager users who had managed to access the platform were experiencing ‘error messages’, ‘high latency’ and ‘unexpected behaviour’.
Users experienced more concern as Google announced that ‘Ad Manager is not delivering ads for the affected users’.
This resulted in Google users being unable to view some advertisements when browsing the search engine.
Later in the evening, Google stated that the error had been resolved, but they did not share the full scope of the outage.
Posts and comments from social media users worldwide have suggested that the issues may have been global.
